This mug is crafted on the wheel, starting with a thick, small form. Vertical strips are then carefully cut out of the sidewall using our faceting tools. While the wheel spins, we push from the inside out, causing the vertical cuts to swirl around the mug. We were pleasantly surprised by how our glazes interacted with these swirls, creating a distinctive and beautiful effect. These are definitely some of our favorite mugs currently in the pottery shop.
