This is a one-of-a-kind hand carved mug by Poor Boys Pottery. We know Poor Boy from Berea College where he and Casey and Noah overlapped briefly in the Ceramics apprenticeship program. We have been carrying Poor Boys Pottery in our gallery at The Brick in the Red River Gorge for a while. They use a sgraffito technique on wheel thrown mugs -they apply a thin layer of white slip on a darker clay body mug and carve through the white slip, revealing the clay body beneath, presenting astounding images.
